当旋转木马转动时,小球划出一个圆形路径。绳子中张力的分量为小球的圆周运动提供了所需的向心力。
向心力指向圆周的中心,其大小由物体的质量、角速度的平方以及物体到旋转轴的距离三者的乘积表示。
由于球向外飞行,根据牛顿第三定律,向内的向心力应有一个大小相等、方向相反的向外反作用力。这个背离旋转中心向外的力称为离心力。
旋转木马上的小球受到一个离心力的作用,该力使其从旋转中心向外运动。
离心力是一种惯性力。只有在非惯性参考系中观察时才会考虑该力。
