Dr. Steward is an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Central Florida. He received his PhD from Carnegie Mellon University and completed a Postdoc at the T.H. Chan Harvard School of Public Health. His research focuses specifically on elucidating the underlying role that mechanics plays in cell physiology and cell pathology. He currently has active projects in the cardiovascular field, diabetes, neurosciences, and gut epithelium.
