Dr. Zhao received her M.S. degree from China Agriculture University in 2011 and her PhD from the School of Environment at Tsinghua University in 2016. Since then, she has worked on revealing the relationships between microorganisms, the environment, and ecological functions, using genomics technologies. From 2018 to 2020, she was a Young Ambassador to China for the American Society for Microbiology. She is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Plant Protection, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Her research focuses on unveiling the microbial mechanisms that assist the successful invasion of exotic plants.
