<p>Dr. Bui Hoang Phuc is a lecturer in medical biotechnology at Van Lang University in Vietnam. He earned his PhD in Environmental and Preventive Medicine from Oita University in Japan, following an MSc from the University of Tsukuba and a BSc from the University of Sciences in Ho Chi Minh City. His research focuses on molecular microbiology, antimicrobial resistance, and microbial genomics. He has extensive experience in high-throughput sequencing, comparative genomics, and host-pathogen interactions. Dr. Phuc has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in international journals and is an active member of the American Society for Microbiology.</p>

Collection Overview

The rapid rise of multidrug-resistant (MDR) bacteria has become a significant global public health issue, prompting the scientific community to deepen the understanding of resistance mechanisms through microbial genomics. This Methods Collection aims to provide standardized protocols for isolating, sequencing, analyzing, and interpreting microbial genomes from clinical and environmental sources. It will feature reproducible workflows for identifying antibiotic resistance genes, conducting comparative genomics of pathogenic strains, and utilizing bioinformatics pipelines in microbial research. By showcasing established methods, this collection will support new and experienced researchers in adopting genomic approaches for antimicrobial resistance surveillance, molecular diagnostics, and evolutionary studies.
