Collection Overview

Stem cell isolation and culturing are crucial initial steps that influence the yield, purity, and functional integrity of all downstream applications in regenerative medicine, including disease modeling and cell therapy. This Methods Collection presents rigorously validated protocols for the derivation, expansion, and quality control of embryonic, induced pluripotent, mesenchymal, and tissue-resident stem cells in both human and animal models. It incorporates serum-free media, 3D microenvironments, single-cell cloning, and automated bioreactor workflows. By standardizing variables, identifying common pitfalls, and providing cross-laboratory benchmarking data, this collection enables researchers to produce high-quality cells, minimize batch-to-batch variability, and expedite translational pipelines for drug screening and therapeutic manufacturing.
